I received both my Bachelor's and my Master's degree in Art Education from Rice University (go Owls!) and am currently teaching elementary school art to approximately 700 students grades K-5. I am incredibly excited to share what I've learned about both traditional and digital art with the next generation of upcoming artists. I believe that anyone can travel the road to becoming a great artist, but like the traditional Italian art schools from centuries past, I believe that if you have someone helping, guiding, and challenging you, you can get there much faster.

I've always been an artist as far as I can tell. I've been drawing since I was young and though I am constantly learning new techniques and methods, I feel like I haven't even cracked the surface of what I have left to learn. Every piece I make leads to new discoveries and methodologies that then lead to other discoveries. My favorite medium is digital painting due to it's ease of use and speed. I like getting my ideas from my brain into finished form as quickly as possible and digital painting is the best facilitator that I have found for this purpose.

Some of my areas of interest are astronomy, history, sports and art. Roman history in particular fascinates me and influences my art. Other influences include music and literature. Honestly, inspiration is everywhere. It's just a matter of deciding what idea to latch onto and pursue. Artists who have inspired my work are John Millais, John Howe, Greg Staples, Gary Larson, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Alan Lee, Jane Austen, Alex Ross, William Holman Hunt, J.R.R. Tolkien, Dan Scott, and my favorites, Gustav Klimt and Alphonse Mucha. I am a diehard Houston sports fan, be it Astros, Texans, or Rockets, and always will be. Thanks for visiting my gallery and I appreciate any comments or questions you may have.
